Tutti Frutti

Tutti-frutti is a yummy vanilla Italian ice cream with lots of nuts and fruit. The Italian words tutti-frutti actually mean ‘all fruits’. ‘Aha’, I thought when I discovered this and had been thinking about the fruit of the Spirit – I want some tutti-frutti! I want all the fruits evidenced in my life. What about you? You too? I believe we can have not just some of the fruit of the Spirit but desiring all the flavours of all fruits as we dwell in him.

My fruity story started with gratitude. I found that thankfulness to God was building my character because I was more in His presence and therefore hearing His voice more clearly. My theory is that when we rub shoulders with God, His fruit becomes more evident in our lives.

Galatians 5:22 indicates to us that the fruit of the Spirit begins with God’s love and then flows to joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. Unfortunately, these are not always apparent in our lives because of triggers which make us slip and fall in a bit of a heap. If you have read my previous blogs, you will know I had a particularly challenging Christmas and New Year period when I fell in a big heap. Literally! I was desperate, which prompted me to seek God more. But God uses our mess for our best. He’s making us bigger and better than we were before.

I want a fruity aroma around me – coming from me – coming from God. What about you? Do you have that beautiful perfume that others are aware of? That others sense and want? Perhaps we need to prompt tutti-frutti, starting with being grateful to God and others. I believe this will start to change your character and make you tutti-frutti!

Let me throw out a challenge to you, my precious readers, a 31-day challenge for the month of March. Get grateful and see if your tutti-frutti flavour becomes more apparent. As you begin to thank God and others for the blessings in your life, I am hoping that rubbing shoulders with God will activate all the fruits – a real tutti-frutti activation.

Let me know what getting grateful in March is doing for you. I’d love to include some of your stories in my subsequent tutti-frutti blogs and as a thank you I will gift you your choice of one of my books.

So get grateful and get tutti-frutti.

Blessings Peta
